Our team started back in April 06, when Shane and Booger united one evening to form a new power house in the gaming community. Both derived from different teams at the time but were allies of
each. Playing Black Hawk Down (BHD) at the time and enjoyed the Nova logic games as the main
idea behind the team. At that time the web site, forums were first, and shortly afterwards the BHD Server went up and was running. The server name was kind of unique ! Rage and quickly filled up
each night. The team started out as a Team Death Match and the admin's stayed busy. Recruiting
went kind of
slow at first but quickly picked up as Gunz, Doc, Trinidad (who we miss), Voltage and Wezal (RET) took the team to other levels. But, the first week the team started getting folks into the server and of course all the cheaters that still played BHD. That was the frustrating part of having a squad in 4 year old game with no support from Nova logic. Then slowly the team gathered power houses of the game such as Just Cause aka: DeltaOne, Sissy, Heckler, and even Bourne who was under cover and a
spy for one of the former teams. The leaders of this other squad had no clue as
to what was going
on at the time and Khef was used as a spy as well, but they had know clue. Then
the team collected Killaton, Tactical and many other power houses that TRB cant list all and it was up hill from there.
Slowly, the team started to grow and grow. The max amount of players that this squad had was
over 65 people at one time. The team continually had 30-40 people on teamspeak at any given
moment. This lasted for about the first 8 months since the team formed. Suddenly, the team slowly started to die, but they couldn't help keep the RAGE inside of the team going. The first anniversary
was a blast, there was a huge party in the server and many allies at that time showed to support
TRB. The Raging Bastards started off very small but grew into a monster and the admin's stayed
busy keeping up with all the players. There were times where the admin's didn't get a chance to play because of the amount of players the team had.
As the game of BHD slowly started to die, TRB started moving into different games after April 07.
TRB started playing STEAM Powered games such as Counter Strike 1.6 and Counter Strike Source.
This led to the future insight of STEAM Powered games. At that time, TRB was hesitant to transform
this team to commit fully to Counter Strike. So TRB continued to play BHD which was dying by the minute and full of cheaters. It was hard for Shane and Booger to break from the game of BHD but
TRB knew it had to in order for this team to survive. Along came Candyman and of course a few
others who gave us a taste of what Counter strike was all about. Nearly eight months went by in a flash, and slowly realizing that BHD was completely dead for TRB, the team moved into STEAM
Powered games. This what you will see today.
In September 07 the committee members decided to completely transform this team into being
100% committed to STEAM. STEAM Powered Games offer allot to the folks in the gaming community. First, they offer a cheat free environment using the Valve. Its much harder for a cheater to survive using
this mighty engine. But with all games there is never a cure, this just helps. The Raging Bastards are committed to being a non cheater team, and have kicked players off the team for many cheating infractions. Secondly, STEAM also offers a good tool for communication and forming groups using
their community pages for The Raging Bastards. All the games are played through STEAM and some are very cheap to play and some can be expensive. But all in all it is a better way to play and most of games are very fun. Counter Strike 1.6 is The Raging Bastards main game now (CORE GAME), Team Fortress 2 seems to be another one that TRB like as well. So the future of this team will depend on always changing and growing to make this team work... Here is a famous quote from General Patton that we live by...
